Route Description, Terrain and Height Climbed:

100%(11km) / 90%(22km) forestry tracks; gravelly with some short stoney sections. A grassy 3km path
section on 23km route. Reliable and firm ground in any
weather.
The 12km has 400m total climbing, but this is short sections only as the route goes up and down from
Torrachilty to Loch Garve. The 23km route has 920m
climbing in total that includes up and down Craig
Ulladail (248) twice and then out and back to Loch
Garve.
Great views across to Ben Wyvis and down Strathpeffer.

Venue - directions and Location:

Forestry yard and carpark at Torrachilty, half a mile
north of Contin on the A835. Turn right (sign) just
before the bridge over the river Blackwater. Parking steward to help.

Admin, Facilities and Arrangements: Forestry public toilets in carpark with water tap.
Nearest vet - Conanvet 01349-861-203.
Parking - it will be a tight squeeze if we are over 12
rigs. So please park carefully using the forestry yard to start and then the carpark.
Be aware this is a popular public forest walking area; so please consider other users and be aware there will be dogs around.
Pick up and take home all muck or put in the green bin by admin.
